Abori literally translated means, “I love it!” in Djerma, a West African language, primarily spoken in Niger and Mali.
Why the Djerma name? The designer served a 27 month stint in the Peace Corps in Niger and spoke Djerma during her service. The people who speak this language are as unique and inspiring as the jewelry that is designed by Abori. The designer wanted to create a name that reflected this experience.
Each piece of Abori custom designed jewelry is handcrafted and constructed with simple dignity; similar to the ways of Nigeriens.
